The Bureau of General Services, as part of the Division of Administration, is responsible for managing the department’s telecommunications, fleet, warehouse, mailroom, facility issues, and support functions for DHSS team members located across the state. This positions works with an excellent team to provide support for infrastructure services. As the Bureau Chief, this position is the primary contact when building issues arise during or after office hours.
What you’ll do:
- Directly supervise two team members and lead a team of fifteen providing coaching, feedback, and evaluations.
- Provide oversight and direction regarding statewide issues such as facility maintenance, janitorial services, building access, ID badges, telecommunications, incoming and outgoing mail/shipments, warehouse storage, department safety, and building projects.
- Evaluate General Service’s processes to identify efficiencies and facilitate positive outcomes.
- Oversee department’s fleet which includes state owned, leased, and inter-agency vehicles.
- Assist with the continuity of operations planning and testing.
- Coordinate all necessary actions to resolve building security or maintenance issues that require immediate action (water line breaks, storm damage, door locks, etc. which may include occasional after hours response).
All you need for success:
Minimum Qualifications
- 5-7 years of relevant experience and 2-4 years of supervisory experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and vendors.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to plan, assign, and review the work of others.
