Position Summary
The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated and customer-service oriented individual(s) for the position of Snow Technician – Winter Seasonal. Individuals in this position are responsible for fulfilling the maintenance of the Nordic ski trails at the Gold Run Nordic. The Gold Run Nordic Center operates from approximately December 1st through April 5th with weather permitting. Duties include but are not limited to; grooming trails with a snowmobile and snow-cats, plowing, shoveling, blowing, hauling snow, marking trails, putting up signs, inspecting trails, marking hazards, moving snow fences, clearing fallen trees or branches, and record keeping.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a High School diploma or GED.
- Must be available through mid-April.
- To qualify for this position, the candidate or employee must pass a criminal background check.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR check.
- Must be able to obtain a valid Colorado Drivers License within the first five (5) days of employment.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience with snowmobiles, snow-cats, or other snow removal equipment.
- Experience with the Gold Run Nordic Center and/or knowledge of nordic skiing is also desirable.
Additional Information
Typical Hiring Pay Range: $21.50 – $22.75 per hour.
SENSITIVITY STATUS
Because the Town’s Recreation Department positions may involve direct contact with children, the Town requires that the incumbent in this position must have a clear criminal history that bears on their fitness to have responsibility for the safety and well-being of children.
WORK SCHEDULE
Must be able to work four (4) or five (5) shifts per week from 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and approximately 16-20 hours per week or as needed at the discretion of management. Must be available through mid-April. Holidays and weekends required. In addition to said schedule, Recreation Department staff may be required to work other shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ EQUIPMENT USED
Work is performed in an outdoor environment with exposure to adverse and variable weather conditions. Qualified candidates must be able to work in an active outdoor work environment, including heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. Equipment used for position includes: snow mobiles with grooming attachments, snow cats, dump truck with snow plow, track loader, utility vehicles, and snow blowers.
