We’re looking for an experienced technical writer able to dive into our developers’ challenges and guide them to solutions. You will describe APIs, SDKs, and code samples. You’ll run test apps, document best practices for integrating SDKs, document how to submit an app on the Amazon Appstore, and more.

Key job responsibilities
* Work as part of a team to produce conceptual, how-to, and reference documentation for app development tools
* Drive the development of product documentation for APIs with product and engineering teams
* Help define and scope writing projects and determine priorities
* Apply and contribute to design and editorial standards to produce high-quality content
* Conduct peer edits for accuracy, completeness, style, and form.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field
* 3+ years as a technical writer in a relevant field
* Experience authoring API and SDK documentation
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Links to writing samples that demonstrate your experience
* Passion to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with publishing systems based on Markdown or HTML and version control such as GitHub/Git
* Ability to write example code in one or more of the following: JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, Python
* Familiarity with programming packages such as Android or React Native
* Experience writing for localization into multiple languages
* Experience following a style guide.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $70,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $173,700/year in our highest geographic market.
