Senior Revenue Accountant – Streaming

Overview and Responsibilities

The Senior Revenue Accountant will be responsible for providing support across Paramount digital and Direct to Consumer (DTC) business units on the accounting of revenue recognition, contract review, and order processing functions. This role is a key member of the accounting team. The accountant will participate in the monthly close process and ensure all revenue related accounts are reconciled and reported timely, while continuously improving process flows. • Ensure revenue recognition is booked accurately, timely, and in compliance with SOX controls and GAAP standards.
• Month-end close activities for revenue recognition including but not limited to journal entries, revenue analysis, unbilled receivables and deferred revenue reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and consolidate data for completion of disclosure and reporting schedules.
• Review sales orders and work with Sales and Client Services teams to ensure the proper setup of sales orders.
• Monitor the sales order forecast variance analysis to evaluate and ensure the revenue accruals have been accurately booked for the month.
• Research and respond to inquiries from Sales and Client Service Teams on variances.
• Subject matter expert with data flow and system integrations between the revenue recognition systems and ERP; lead prompt resolution of data ingest exceptions
• Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and provide timely feedback while keeping management aware of key issues.
• Provide ongoing guidance to the Sales team and business operations on revenue recognition issues, such as identifying and addressing the cause of any adverse revenue recognition impacts.

Key Projects:
• Work with external auditors and assist with quarterly SOX audits and internal audits requests.
• Implement workflow automation initiatives; work closely with Sales, Client Services, and Ad Ops teams for ad hoc training and process improvements.
• Partake in testing of system migration projects for all digital ads business units in Paramount Global (domestic and international)
• Participate in ad-hoc revenue analysis and accounting projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 5+ years accounting experience with Oracle R12 or SAP knowledge
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)

Additional Qualifications
• Advertising media and streaming industry experience is a plus.
• Operative One, Salesforce, and/or Recurly experience a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Accuracy and high attention to detail
• Experience with foreign currency transactions a plus
• Ability to organize and prioritize duties
• Ability to effectively manage time and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Ability to pass a background check

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $90,000.00 – 94,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
