Job Summary
Plans, coordinates, directs, and designs all operational activities of the IT department, as well as providing direction and support for IT technical solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. Works closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. Provides leadership by instructing and reviewing work of professional and technical staff. Ensures the efficient operation of the county’s technology and services related to Network Engineering and Administration, Telecommunications, Server Administration, Database Administration, Data Center Operations, Workstation, End User Device Management and End User Support (Service Center). This includes managing the IT staff responsible for monitoring and diagnosing hardware and software problems. Works closely with the IT executive staff and decision makers in other departments in order to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective infrastructure technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Is responsible for the development of strategic plans, and associated standards, policies, procedures, and budgets. Participates in the development of the Information Technology Project Portfolio, including resource capacity plans and capital improvement budgets. Prepares and monitors division budgets, makes presentations to executive and legislative decision-making entities and is responsible for staffing, training, and managing the division’s units and staff.
Minimum Qualifications

At time of application, applicants must:

1. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or a closely related field.

2. Have had at least ten (10) years of full-time work experience leading and managing IT organizations and professional technical staff members.

3. Possess one or more of the following professional IT process/methodology certification(s): ITIL, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – Data Center and/or Enterprise Infrastructure, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect or related certification.
