About The Position
The IT Systems Administrator II directly supports and administers workstation, server and network hardware, software, and services for all Geneva users and functions. This position is responsible for recommending, implementing, supporting, and maintaining software, hardware and network services across the organization. This position also includes working with
business leaders and end users to analyze business needs and ensure that implemented solutions meet stakeholder expectations.
This is a hybrid remote job opportunity. The employee will be required to go into the office at least 1 day a week.
Salary Range
$68,000 – $88,000. Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers
- Implement and maintain server and workstation systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives
- Deploy workstations, servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, and security systems
- Manage all operating systems and end-user software
- Manage communications and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, company Web site, intranet, and Internet applications
- Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance to business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
- Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
- Perform network and security audits
- Perform and test routine system backups and restores
- Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers and workstations
- Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
- Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance
- Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches,reconfigurations,and/or purchases
- Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts
- Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure products and services
- Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use
- Prepare and submit vendor warranty claims, parts, and documentation associated with warranty repairs (with authorization from vendors)
- Perform moves/adds/changes within Geneva’s phone system. Set up calling features such as Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) groups, pick groups call processing, and voicemail. Provide phone support and training to new users and solve miscellaneous phone problems
- Train users in startup, basic and advanced use of software programs including Microsoft Office. May provide group training on request
- May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required
- 2-4 years non-profit, research, or healthcare experience desired
- Working technical knowledge of server and workstation operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server 2008-2012 and Windows 7+ required
- Application support experience with Microsoft server software such as Active Directory, SQL Server, SharePoint, Teams, Office 365, Cisco CatalystSwitches, Palo Alto Firewalls, and Exchange required
- Strong knowledge of local area network administration required
- Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication required
- In-depth knowledge and extensive hands-on experience in desktop operating system maintenance and troubleshooting, and installation and support of MS Windows operating systems and common applications required
- Certification/Licensure: A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications desired
- Must be organized, attentive to detail, and posses a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
- Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner
