About the Job

We are searching for a social media-savvy person to join the nation’s leading Native-owned art and lifestyle brand. As a Social Media Assistant, you will support our Social Media Manager and Marketing Manager to conduct a broad range of tasks related to social media marketing

Position Basics

  • Contract 1099 position; contract starts with 3 months with the opportunity to extend
  • In-person work at our headquarters in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood
  • 10 hours/week, with hours spread across Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
  • $25/hr

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Schedule and publish content on social media platforms, ensuring consistency and adherence to the content calendar.
  • Using camera(s), take still and photo content, edit content, add transcriptions to videos, and write captions for posts.
  • Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and respond promptly and appropriately to engage with our audience and address inquiries or concerns.
  • Monitor key social media metrics and analytics to evaluate the performance of content and campaigns.
  • Assist with occasional blog and e-newsletter writing.
  • Assist with general marketing tasks as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices to ensure the brand remains at the forefront of social media innovation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in creating content for social media accounts for businesses, brands, or as an influencer.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in using social media management tools and scheduling platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of social media analytics and reporting tools.
  • Creativity and a passion for social media marketing and community engagement.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to evolving social media trends and platform updates.
  • A positive and collaborative attitude, with a willingness to learn and contribute to the team’s success.
  • General knowledge of Native American and/or First Nations issues.
