Executive Assistant / Museum Operations (Seasonal)

The Misalignment Museum 501(c)(3) showcases the capabilities of AI technology through thought-provoking art pieces for people to learn about AI and reflect on its possibilities. After a highly publicized and successful pop-up pilot in San Francisco’s Mission District, the Misalignment Museum is now re-opening at the Warriors Chase Center on September 21, 2023.

This is a seasonal employee position from September 2023 to December 2023 with the possibility of full-time employment in 2024. We are looking for someone equally passionate about art, AI technology, and nonprofit operations to support the Museum’s Executive Director. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and a go-getter who can plan and execute high-profile museum events, provide operational and administration support, and help manage and interact with vendors, artists, visitors, and donors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute high-profile events at the Museum including working with vendors, artists, venue management and ensuring every detail is perfect. Must be available to be onsite at all museum events at the Warriors Chase Center which will include weekend and late evening programs.
  • Museum operations including processing invoices, replying to inbound emails, scheduling meetings and tours, maintaining records, and working with HR & Legal as needed.
  • Maintain our database of donors and contributions. Coordinate donor outreach as requested.
  • Help manage and interact with vendors, artists, visitors, and donors.
  • Build trusted relationships with donors and other community stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for venue and event set up, welcome visitors and guests, aid with gift shop management

Skills & Experience

  • Executive Assistant, administration, and/or operations experience.
  • An understanding of San Francisco Bay Area and the tech ecosystem.
  • Nonprofit and/or donor experience is a huge plus.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and available to be onsite at all museum events at the Warriors Chase Center.
  • Strong organizational, project management, problem-solving skills, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proactive in managing competing priorities and identifying needs without being asked or directed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to gracefully interact with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Exceptional written and oral skills.

Location: This seasonal position is located in San Francisco, CA. Candidates must live in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area or be willing to relocate.

Compensation: $35.00 to $65.00 per hour depending on experience. We estimate the seasonal position will be 20-30 hours per week. Hours and schedules will vary depending on the needs of the museum and event schedule.
