What the day will look like
Act as Account Executive and Team Leader responsible for delivering risk financing consulting and transactional insurance/reinsurance broking services to large and complex Professional Service firms in the public accounting and management/technology consulting space. Build and strengthen relationships with both existing and new clients by delivering the desired client experience and value proposition. Strategically lead and develop the client service team. Ensure all clients’ needs are promptly and accurately satisfied; ensure all deadlines are met on a timely basis; ensure quality standards are maintained and handle projects independently and creatively. Grasp/understand topics involving our specialty industry niche.
How this opportunity is different
Relationship Management responsibility for Professional Services clients, principally top 15 accounting firms, and global consulting firm clients.
Builds, expands, and solidifies relationships with existing clients at executive levels within the company and leads appropriate resources to address the client’s risk/capital management needs.
Major Responsibilities Include:
- Lead/manage a team of specialty lines professionals.
- Coordinate actuarial, captive, and other consulting services available to clients.
- Senior specialty (professional liability, cyber liability employment practices liability and management/directors & officers liability) product line responsibility for all assigned clients including all communications, market interaction and related work product.
- Maintenance of senior level underwriting relationships; oversight of all product line marketing and market relationships for team.
- Oversee negotiations with underwriters on difficult and/or complex renewals/new business opportunities. Negotiate best possible price and capacity using knowledge, expertise, and market presence for desired cover.
- Prepares and negotiates fee-based pricing of services, ensuring account profitability in a value-based approach for the scope of service and costs associated with the client service agreement.
- Penetration of all product line offerings. Able to understand the Client, their industry and their risks and match them with potential Aon solutions.
- Possesses strong influence across the Aon organization to align resources to best serve the client’s needs. Solves the clients most complex risk management problems.
- Accountable for the development of new and existing business Effectively deliver global service through network relationships, where applicable, including local Aon offices/producer network.
- Develop new client opportunities for Aon related to the accounting and consulting firms themselves.
- Analyzes the range of risk financing programs commercially available. Performs coverage comparisons with brokers where needed across all major lines of business.
- Secures existing business and drives the sale of additional services and coverages across solution lines. Works at a strategic level to cultivate relationships with the client.
- Identifies and generates new and penetration business opportunities across solution lines. Collaborates with Producers on new business opportunities.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Aon’s resources and capabilities. Effectively leverages the Aon network to achieve client risk objectives. Conducts needs assessment of client’s business objectives and coordinates Aon’s Resources to execute client’s needs.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Actuarial or CFA designations will be considered. MBA or other graduate degrees a plus. Insurance licensing as required but not necessary to be considered
Minimum seven to ten years related insurance or reinsurance experience.
Will consider candidates with insurance and reinsurance broking, underwriting, actuarial, captive, or commercial insurance/reinsurance company and claims experience – preferably in the professional, financial or management liability lines areas.
Corporate risk management experience, especially in a Professional Services firm environment will also be considered.

The salary range for this position is $210,000 to $260,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of New York. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
