Job Posting Summary
The Head Coach of Women’s’ Soccer will be responsible for all aspects of developing, leading, and managing a NCAA Division II program.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to coaching of student athletes recruiting, evaluation of talent, team conditioning, practice, and game management, monitoring academic progress, scheduling of contests, development and management of program budgets, supervision, and evaluation of the staff.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties:

  • Organize the teams helping teams’ program a
  • Assist with scheduling and provide support at all our home competitions.
  • Liaison between Athletics and Residential Life, collaborating on move in and move out dates for the fall and spring semesters and winter break.
  • Oversee the SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee) program.
  • Handle the game contracts of all 10 teams, making sure all dates/times of competition are correct.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant VP of Athletics.

Coaching Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of practice plans
  • Recruit student athletes for the women’s soccer team according to NCAA policies and departmental philosophies.
  • Monitor the academic progress of the women’s soccer student athletes.
  • Coordinate and oversee pre-season conditioning and weight training progra
  • Schedule fall and spring contests
  • Develop and administer the women’s soccer budget.
  • Coordinate team travel.
  • Represent the department and the institution at internal and external events.
  • Hire and oversee assistant coaches.
  • Maintain knowledge of all applicable NCAA, Conference, and institutional rules that impact the women’s soccer program

Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of the fundamental skills of soccer
  • Excellent communication skills

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Physical/Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per university policies

The Mercy University Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:
Deferred Compensation Plan
All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the University.
Defined Contribution Plan
Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy University and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period. If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.
If employed full-time for two (2) or more consecutive years by another institution(s) of higher education (college or university), without an intervening break in service within the last twelve (12) months prior to employment before joining Mercy, please submit a waiting period waiver form to Office of Human Resources.
