Overview
The Supervisor-Departmental Human Resources supervises, supports, oversees and contributes to the Parks department’s talent management, learning and engagement strategy, program design, and workforce development solutions.
Essential Functions
Essential Functions
- Leads, advises, supervises, and supports key human resources functions within the department; assists and oversees learning, organizational, talent development, and engagement solutions to meet personnel needs.
- Identifies, develops, and anticipates current and future learning or development strategies to ensure the organization is positioned to retain and build service-focused leadership and engagement.
- Establish short-, mid- and long-term goals and objectives. Create and implement relevant coaching strategy that focuses on service improvement and behavioral change. Work with leaders to create strategic plans for developmental training needs both technical and soft skills.
- Participates in the development of competency models and strategies to ensure development and overall effectiveness of departmental competence; leads and implements an effective career development strategy with an emphasis on continuous learning and improvement.
- Develops, plans, and implements a variety of training to meet organizational objectives and enhance employee development; manages strategic activities of staff in an operating unit or functional area and develops, evaluates, and manages work-unit budgets.
- Supports and assists the needs and development of current and future leaders through coaching and assessments; trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts and conducts training assessments to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance.
- Research and develop training and curriculum materials for supporting content and initiatives; coordinates and monitors curriculum implementation through vendor contracting, scheduling, and development of training plans and course evaluation.
- Analyzes data and reports to monitor participation and effectiveness of training programs and systems; creates reports and presentations to communicate relevant data across all levels of the organizations and drives awareness of available development and engagement resources through creative campaigns and other internal processes.
- Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience
- 5 Years’ in a Learning and Development, Human Resources, Training, or other related experience.
Licenses and Certifications

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field
