Graphic Artist – NY or LA based (remote) – for Billabong and Roxy brands

Specific Responsibilities Would Include

The Graphic Artist will support and collaborate with the Design Director in creating original art for well known youth girls surf/snow apparel brands that follows current trends and drives sales. You will create spot placement art as well as all over prints for multiple brands, lines, and size ranges, while being able to prepare artwork for mass production. This role requires a creative, versatile, and motivated candidate who loves to work in a fast-paced environment and is familiar with youth girls surf/snow apparel brands like Billabong and Roxy

Responsibilities:

  • Create graphics inspired by surf/snow culture from original hand sketches and prints based on direction from Design Director.
  • Research graphic trends each season across multiple product categories and assist in the creation of graphic road maps for all brands specifically pertaining to the surf/snow market.
  • Must create art using an assortment of illustration and graphic styles to apply to the many different brands and styles we develop.
  • Prepare and separate art files to pass off to our Production team to create tech packs and art pages. This includes putting print and pattern into repeat, recoloring and assigning techniques.
  • Modify and update graphics and prints as needed when revisions are requested by our Production teams and Licensors.
  • Maintain technique libraries and art resource aids to be accessed by our Design Team including staying current with new art techniques and trends.
  • Provide guidance throughout the product development process as it relates to graphic design, techniques, and execution.
  • Build collaborative relationships with Design, Design Ops, Product Development and Production.
  • Contribute to the creation of presentations, sales tools and special projects. Includes maintaining and updating art and graphic elements within our merch-boards.
  • Prepare seasonal graphic/print comp shopping reports as well as trend graphic/rpint reports from better and contemporary markets for development inspiration and trend.

Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have

  • 3-5 years of relevant design experience in Women’s / Girl Sportswear preferable with surf/snow brands.
  • Must have good hand illustration skills and can sketch up ideas.
  • Must have a strong experience in creating graphics specifically for surf/snow apparel, artistic all over pattern repeats and understand how to index for production.
  • To collaborate with Design Director in all aspects of line development regarding graphic design and art treatments keeping in mind customers, price point and practicality of producing all artwork created.
  • Must be proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop. 3D, Ai generated software & Blender programs a plus.
  • Must be a team player and have a positive proactive attitude.
  • Enthusiasm towards innovating and thinking outside the box.
  • Ability to multitask and time manage your workflow while during multiple deadlines.
  • Understanding of cross functional relationships and product lifecycles.

Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000

Our job postings include an annual base salary range at the time of employment. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on several factors, including the selected candidate’s educational and professional experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. Base salary is a part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, annual bonus and other Centric Brands sponsored benefit programs.
