Our continued growth has created an immediate need for a Code Enforcement Official located in Erie County, NY.
The client for this project is for the Office of General Services.

Responsibilities
- Review all construction documents to ensure compliance with code
- Review all construction installations to provide applicable code acceptance for each
- Provide code review for pre-construction and construction
- Provide regular inspection of code applicable construction installations.
- Conduct field investigations, inspect properties for violations; attempt to make contact in order to resolve violation
- Issue and post warning notices, notices of violation, corrective notices, orders to comply and related documentation for code violations
- Schedule and perform all follow-up functions to gain compliance including letters, inspections, calls meetings, discussions and negotiations to ensure compliance with appropriate codes and ordinances
Qualifications
- BS Degree from an accredited college
- Background in Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Plumbing trade code enforcement
- Certified by NYS Department of State, Division of Building Standards and Codes
- 4+ years’ experience in providing code compliance review and construction inspections
- Familiar with permit documents
- Ability to review and comment on the section inspection reports submitted and document any deficiencies encountered
- Review corrective actions performed for achieving code compliance
- Experienced interpreting and applying applicable codes, ordinances and regulations relating to zoning, nuisance abatement and health and safety issues
- Research, compile and maintain complex logs, records and files
- Strong communication skills
