Overview
Utilize specific workers compensation insurance knowledge, provide data analysis, auditing, information gathering, tracking, reporting, and inquiry resolution for the PEO Specialty workers’ compensation underwriting team, work comp vendor partners, and field service HRS support staff. Meets or exceeds expectations for customer service including administrative services and renewal activities. This position will focus on PEO clients who maintain operations in one of the WC Monopolistic States, including responsibility for client registrations.
Responsibilities
- Works as a liaison and resource to both internal and external PEO customers.
- Assists PEO sales representatives, PHRS generalists, management and any applicable internal partners with understanding general requirements regarding our Monopolistic PEO service, set up process, and ongoing service model to protect the PEO business against adverse risk.
- Assesses and communicates the time frame of the on boarding process with PEO sales representatives, district sales managers, PHRS generalists, human resource managers and operations to obtain correct client information and ensure client expectations are properly met.
- Monitors and communicates approvals from underwriting department to eliminate multiple field touch points. Partners with PEO sales representatives, PHRS generalists, and operations team to ensure uniformity, effective communication and alignment with client expectations, status, and time frames. Escalates to appropriate parties when a time frame cannot be met enhancing the client experience and deliverables.
- Develops and maintains functional knowledge of industry trends, product offerings, and legislative and compliance changes.
- Develops and maintains a high degree of PHRS product and system knowledge, as well as an understanding of how our system interfaces with all other applications and products. Reviews and updates any procedures or training materials where applicable for quality and consistency in our service offering.
- Audits PEO client employee job titles, statement of duties and current classification codes. Requests missing information from field service staff and/or PEO partners and updates internal systems to ensure complete and accurate information on all PEO employees. Manages new policy or class code requests received from field service, updates systems, and notifies appropriate PEO departments to ensure accurate and complete information is maintained.
- Manages new client implementation process from initial submission until the first payroll via communication and various internal systems to ensure a seamless transition from requirement checking to the clients first run. Initiate monthly New client audits to identify and pro actively resolve any errors that may occur.
- Initiates outbound internal communication of incomplete paperwork and any corrections needed during the setup process to streamline field touch points for a quicker resolution.
- Investigates, resolves and responds to specific requests from state workers compensation departments in a timely and accurate fashion to avoid fines and penalties.
- Create, maintain, prepare, and present a variety of Workers Compensation reports to provide underwriters, PEO management, and PEO vendor partners with key metrics for business unit analysis.
- Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the positions function.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma – Preferred
- Associate’s Degree – Preferred
- 1 year of experience in Administrative skills experience in a high paced business environment.
- 1 year of experience in Workers Compensation and PEO experience.
- Property and Casualty license – Preferred
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $17.07 – $31.69 hourly. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
