Overview
Under the leadership of the Director of Ticketing, Marketing and Sales, the Sales Manager is responsible for the generation of ticket sales revenue and for assisting with all aspects of the annual season and group ticket sales campaigns. Including but not limited to Full Seasons, Partial Plans, and Groups for UML Hockey, and Men’s and Women’s Basketball. In addition, this position will sell group tickets and premium inventory for Tsongas Center events including family show and concerts. This position supervises the ticket sales representative.
This role will pay a salary of $45,000 to $50,000.

About the Venue
Oak View Group has an exciting opening for an Sales Manager on the campus of UMass Lowell (UML) for the Tsongas Center, a 7,000 seat multi-purpose arena. The Tsongas Center is one of the premier arenas in the New England region and is home to UML Division I Men’s Ice Hockey, Men’s and Women’s basketball programs, as well as a variety of events including concerts, family shows, comedy, and other live events. The Tsongas Center serves as a public venue to the community and has been a staple of the region for the past 25 years.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for producing the maximum revenue for UMass Lowell Basketball and Hockey through the sale of ticket packages (seasons, partial, groups, etc)
- Responsible for communicating to clients and prospects through various means including direct contact, corporate partner gatherings, etc.
- Meet with event clients prior to events in determining event needs, oversee related staff and provide information and direction to in-house departments and support staff.
- Knowledgeable in all UMass Lowell Hockey and Basketball product lines including season plans, partial plans, and premium seating group packages.
- Recruits, hires and trains all Sales Representatives.
- Assist with coordinating campaign schedule to ensure complete prospecting canvas of all products.
- Manages all database information listings acquired through various entities through CRM database.
- Assist with closing business, sales calls and appointments.
- Responsible for handling customer challenges and/or concerns as they relate to sales made by the department.
- Assists with requests for additional support staffing for outside events and games.
- Personally Selling.
- Assist Director of Ticketing, Marketing, & Sales plan to increase Ticket Revenue.
- Prepare sales material and collateral.
- Research and implement “best practices” of sales events by networking with other sports teams.
- Manage Box Office as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree from accredited college/university in a related field required
- Minimum of 3-5 years sales experience, preferably in college athletics or professional sports, required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language required
- Demonstrated ability to manage numerous business relationships in a professional manner
- Superior time management skills and presentation skills
- Must possess attention to detail, organization and ability to listen
- Must be resourceful, proactive and goal oriented with a think yes attitude
- Must be highly motivated with the desire to develop professionally
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Paciolan ticketing system preferred
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM system preferred
