Responsibilities
This is an exempt position requiring the facilitation of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) initiatives. The role includes performing CBM instrumentation installations and removals, diagnostics, troubleshooting, field repairs, and data collection on instrumented systems.
This is an onsite position in Ft. Irwin, California.
The CBM Technicianwill be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Maintains program liaison between client units, and customer and company management
- .Conducts periodic status briefings.
- Requests and receives logistical support through company management.
- Notifies the management and customer of repair/installation activity, advises Assistant Program Manager-Ground (APM-G) and CBM Tech Manager of enrolled SDC equipment issues, performs unit visits, and submits travel requests as required.
- Ensures compliance with all program directives.
- Ensures compliance with all corporate policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Participates in the coordination and monitoring of CBM data collection on all vehicle variants within the continental United States (CONUS). This includes working with DM personnel to identify and induct new units with target vehicle variants and may require frequent travel within CONUS.
- Performs instrumentation installations and removals, maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, monitoring, downloading, and transmission of CBM data on enrolled equipment.
- Provides periodic feedback to units to help with maintenance decisions/planning with respect to CBM monitored systems.
- Provides a detailed weekly summary of collection efforts and CBM activities (fieldings, battle-loss, materiel lessons learned, etc.).
- Provides necessary training for CBM system interface and data downloads when required.
- Facilitates hardware/software configuration management across all CBM systems.
- Coordinates hardware/software/firmware configurations to meet data collection needs.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Additional Duties:
- Reads and understand the SDC Employee Manual, personnel policies and procedures.
- Ensures uninterrupted data collection/submittal of CBM data from the unit.
- Notifies the SDCA CBM Project Manager of actual or potential problems concerning the program itself and the systems being monitored.
- Maintains a complete folder of applicable regulations, circulars and policies.
- Reads and understands the Field Monitors Guide and corporate policies.
Provides on-site CBM training to field personnel. - Hosts and briefs all off site visitors reviewing CBM site operations, as requested.
Some off-site travel may be required in order to perform position requirements.

Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
BS 0-2, AS 2-4 or HS 4-6 years of experience.
- Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance is required.
- Associates degree preferred in a technically oriented area; relevant work experience may be substituted.
- Hands-on mechanical maintenance experience involving installation, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware/electronics.
- Experience or education in computer capabilities, requirements and benefits.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in project management and coordination.
Mathematical Skills:
Must have the ability to use basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, discounts, and proportions to practical situations. Must understand engineering units, conversions, measurement principles, trend analysis, statistical processes, etc.

Target Salary Range
$51,000 – $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
