Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior OSP Designer for our Denver, CO office! The position will design continuous fiber routes over existing and newly built fiber optic cables, creating fiber splice documents, and using as-built information. We are seeking an experienced Outside Plant Fiber Designer in the FTTH industry.
Our telecommunications design professionals have years of experience working in the fiber optic, coax and copper construction field preparing for outside (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) installations. As leaders within the industry, we work with communities on broadband deficit solutions, deploying fiber to upgrade aging technology to 5G, and addressing utility relocations. Our design services include fiber-to-tower, Enterprise, FTTH, oDAS and iDAS, and distributed architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop layouts for OSP Fiber design
- Generation of bills of material, splice sheets, and other supporting documentation for design
- Review completed design for errors and efficiency
- Ensure design specifications are maintained
- Adhere to appropriate quality standards set out in the design requirements
- Analyze OTDR traces, evaluate characteristics of fiber, and document test results
- Review, resolve, and follow-up on requests and complaints
- May advise, train, and guide other designers
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/Equivalent is required
- 6+ years of previous work experience or the equivalent education/certification with AutoCAD, MicroStation and Spatial is required
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Visual design skills are a plus
- Knowledge of easement, right-of-way, and permit documents is preferred
- Competence in design methodology, process, and metrics
- Previous experience in OSP Fiber design with an understanding of OSP construction and engineering is required
- High integrity and strong work ethic
- Attention to detail and ability to think creatively and strategically is required
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Must be able to work independently and without supervision
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other team members
Salary Range: $34-$42/HR DOQ
