Sr. C++/.NET Software Developer – Indoor Mapping Software

Overview

As an enthusiastic and talented software developer, you will join a team that pushes the boundaries of indoor mapping technology while supporting Esri’s flagship software for GIS Professionals. You will use strong algorithmic skills to produce spatial data formats that can be used by web and mobile applications for 2D and 3D building visualizations, indoor navigation, and space management. You will be joining a team that is responsible for building the foundation for Indoor GIS used by other products and apps in the Esri ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test software components and capabilities related to indoor mapping
  • Create intuitive user interfaces in C#/WPF that allow users to solve problems faster and easier
  • Solve complex problems with application design, development, and user experiences
  • Create software that is scalable, easy to use, and easy to maintain
  • Find, analyze, and fix bugs/performance problems whenever and wherever they occur in the software
  • Build and ship quality software by working effectively with members of other software development teams
  • Work in agile environment to deliver software of highest quality

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar position or supporting similar responsibilities
  • Professional experience supporting commercial software development
  • Demonstrated experience building software in C++
  • C# and WPF programming experience
  • Strong working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, databases, and computer networks concepts
  • Ability to work closely with software developers, product engineers, and documentation writers to build quality commercial software
  • Excellent problem solving, design, development, and debugging skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills
  • Experience working with one or more of the following relational databases: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Access, SQLite, or similar
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience developing or using mapping related software such as ArcGIS or QGIS
  • Experience developing or using CAD or BIM software, such as AutoCAD, REVIT, or MicroStation
  • Experience with graphics programming, using SDK’s such as OpenGL or DirectX
  • Experience developing and consuming REST services along with working knowledge of JSON
  • Experience working with spatial databases or spatial data formats, such as the Geodatabase, GeoJSON, or Shapefile
  • Experience using agile methodologies for software development projects
  • Master’s in computer science or related field

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $114,400.00 – $187,200.00.
