Senior Technical Program Manager, AWS – AFX – Private Pricing

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Private Pricing team provides our sellers with a deal management and analysis platform that enables and accelerates private pricing deals with our most important customers. Our business is constantly evolving and we build software that drives that evolution. We are looking for Senior Technical Program Manager (Sr TPM) with strong program management skills to lead our organization and stakeholders as we build the next iteration of our system. Come join a team at the beginning of a product life cycle and help define the way AWS does business with its key customers.

The Sr TPM will manage implementation of the strategy, requiring work across organizations with multiple stakeholders, product managers, and software engineers. The role will require driving and delivering multiple projects simultaneously. The Sr TPM will provide project leadership, anticipate bottlenecks, mitigate project risks, quantify the impact of making tradeoffs, and balance business needs against technical constraints for the projects and the program.

Key job responsibilities

– Lead our planning process, to make sure we are working on the highest priority projects.

– Continuously evaluate and streamline existing processes

– Partner with stakeholders, product managers, and engineers to manage our engineering programs

– Manage cross-functional programs (from inception to delivery)

– Own project status communication. Consistently impart clear and concise summaries for the projects you own to your leadership/management team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

– 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

– 3+ years of software development experience

– 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

– Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

– Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

– Experience defining KPI’s/SLA’s used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
