CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
- The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.

- Valid Driver’s License (*If not currently a Florida resident, must obtain a Florida Driver’s License within 30 days after entering Florida as a new resident. A satisfactory driving record is required for driving state or personal vehicles to conduct agency business.)
- Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC). Selected candidate must pass a federal security background investigation. The process includes a National Agency Check and Inquiry (NACI) and fingerprinting. New employees must complete and sign the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Form SF85.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University with major coursework education in business administration, program management or related field or a related field; AND
- Two (2) years of professional experience in office management, business administration, information technology, human resource administration, budget preparation work or a related field.
- Additional years of experience managing a business function, division, or department may substitute for the required education on a year-per-year basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position supports the Florida State Guard (FSG) and is a variation of grades appropriate to the amount and level of responsibility involved by the position. This position requires knowledge of all tasks specified for the position. This position will interact with the organization’s Chief of Florida State Guard. Incumbent plans and carries out the details and perform the technical analysis and research required to meet defined objectives. Work is performed independently within the defined objectives of this position. Reports to the FSG Chief of Staff and works under general supervision with moderate latitude for use of initiative and independent judgement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops plans, programs, and policies for the training, management, and administration of current and projected organizational training programs, to include FSG Mission Ready Packages, Critical Incident Management, and other training programs as assigned.
- Develops draft policies, concepts, and procedures to ensure that an effective operation is maintained using personnel, equipment, and funding to support the mission.
- Coordinates with FSG paid-volunteers and ensures continuity of all FSG training programs and operations.
- Analyzes internal training processes, recommends, and implements procedural and policy changes to improve training operations.
- Manages (plans, assigns, and supervises) activities of training staff and instructors.
- Evaluates training to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards.
- Plans and coordinates special assignments and programs.
- Prepares and reviews training and operational reports.
- Reviews and updates training policies, procedures, and orders.
- Ensures administrative quality control.
- Plans, conducts, and/coordinates workshops, and training programs.
- Compiles training data and prepares training status reports.
- May assign the work of others.
- Performs related work as assigned.
