Position Overview:
The Jr. Solar Project Developer under the supervision of the Director of Solar Programs will be responsible for supporting all aspects of solar energy, and energy storage project development from ideation to pre-construction: Performing site evaluations, securing land rights, interconnection rights, building permits, property tax agreements, power purchase agreements and other contracts. The Jr. Solar Project Developer will also be expected to work closely withand support the Construction team to ensure project timelines and budgets are maintained and regulatory requirements are met.

Must Have Qualifications:
- Min. two years of experience in a similar position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as engineering, environmental science, or business
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of solar project development processes and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and project management software, ideally Smartsheets
- Willingness to travel for site visits and meetings.
Location: Remote in the U.S.A.

Compensation: $85,000/yr
Key Responsibilities:
- Assuming responsibility for assisting in the development of solar projects from inception to completion.
- Working closely with Director of Solar Programs and a team of experts to ensure the successful execution of solar projects.
- Actively participating in project meetings and providing regular updates to the team.
- Assisting in all aspects of solar and solar+energy storage project development from initial greenfield efforts through to the start of construction.
- Provides support and conducts due diligence including research and analysis of potential solar project sites as well as traveling to site locations to meet with landowners and perform physical site evaluations.
- Supporting the administration of development services agreements with local or regional development partners.
- Interfaces with the finance department during financial feasibility analysis, evaluation.
- Engaging community, local, state, and federal institutions to determine permitting requirements.
- Coordinating the preparation and submittal of permit applications and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinating contractors, vendors, and consultants to maintain project timeline and budget and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assisting with project budgets, objectives, schedules, and deliverables for assigned development projects.
- Aiding in the negotiation of power purchase agreements and other contracts.
- Contributing to the development of new business opportunities and strategies.
