Job Description
Senior Staff Accountant – Revenue is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, variance reporting and closing revenue monthly by day three of the financial close.
**This role offers a hybrid schedule**
Compensation: The salary range for this role is $65,000 – $75,000. Pay will be determined based on experience level.
Essential Functions:
• Provide accounting support to the Finance Manager, Revenue.
• Assist with monthly and year-end close and prepare/review journal entries related to company revenue in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prepare/review all month end processes to close revenue by day three of the financial close process.
• Prepare/review account reconciliations; research and resolve variances.
• Prepare/review key revenue financial reports used by accounting and management.
• Identify and recommend process improvements.
• Assist with special projects, as assigned.
• Assist in overseeing offshore team by reviewing tasks, journal entries and reconciliations and giving guidance and/or answering questions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Management Responsibility: Review work performed by offshore team under the general direction of the Finance Manager, Revenue.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 2-4 years accounting or related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Proven understanding and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet established deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate with offshore team to ensure timeliness and accuracy of tasks, journal entries and reports.
• Strong analytical skills and is attentive to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
• Team orientated approach to tasks and problem solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) with the ability to learn new and existing company specific software applications.
• Ability to manage large sets of data and complex spreadsheets.
• Ability to take initiative in identifying problems, collecting data, and establishing facts in order to produce practical decisions and solutions.
• Basic mathematical skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners and fax machines. Position requires prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
