Description
The City of Aiken is seeking an Athletic Program Coordinator to join our Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department in the Athletics Division.
Examples of Duties
- Develops, plans, markets, and supervises the coordination and implementation of all youth and adult athletic sports leagues, tournaments, and special events
- Schedules rental facilities, completes contracts, work requests, check requests, and diagrams for set ups
- Enforces departmental rules and regulations. Assists with interviewing, training, and supervision of part-time and seasonal staff
- Registers participants and receipts monies
- Resolves customer concerns or complaints
- Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with other City divisions, outside agencies, groups, and the general public
- Performs other related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in recreation or related field
- A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required within a year of employment
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends

Retirement
Full-time employees participate in the Defined Contribution 401(a) Retirement Plan. After one year of employment, the employee will begin contributing 6% to the Plan, with the City making a matching 6% contribution. Employees are fully vested after 5 years of service.
