PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The role of the Principal is to direct and manage instructional programs and supervise operations and personnel at the campus level; to provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service, and to oversee compliance with district policies, the success of instructional programs, and the operation of all campus activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
.Master’s degree
.Valid Texas Principal or other appropriate certification as per the Texas Education Agency
.Certified instructional supervisor and appraiser in the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System
(T-TESS)
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
.Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
.Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
.Ability to manage budget and personnel
.Ability to coordinate campus functions
.Ability to implement policy and procedures
.Ability to interpret data
.Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
.Three years minimum experience as a classroom teacher
.Three years experience in instructional leadership roles
