Requirements

  • Experience: Three to five years food preparation, supervision and leadership responsibilities required in a restaurant and/or hospital setting preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma/GED.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: WA State Food Handler’s Card required.
  • Summary

    Oversee preparation and presentation of wholesome, quality food products for cafeteria and patient services by following recipes and established standards. Ensures cleanliness and sanitation as per American Osteopathic Association and Department of Health Standards. Oversee Food and Nutrition Services operations.

    WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Work is performed in a commercial kitchen in a hospital setting. The work is active in nature and requires standing and/or walking the majority of the shift. Requires moving and lifting objects up to 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally; occasional kneeling, stooping, crouching required. Frequent repetitive hand/wrist motions and finger manipulation. Requires normal/corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires tasting/smelling. The worker may be exposed to noise, smoke, fumes and/or odors.
