The City and County of Broomfield is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources Team. The Broomfield HR team possesses a strong desire to serve as strategic HR business partners to our internal customers providing thoughtful, compassionate HR guidance and counsel. Under new leadership, the HR team is embarking on a journey of process improvement, innovation and the pursuit of excellence. The HR Business Partner is responsible for a variety of routine, specialized, complex and confidential Human Resources support functions such as, but not limited to: talent acquisition, recruitment, workforce planning, classification and compensation, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, personnel policies, compliance and employment law. This role reports directly to the Deputy HR Director and works alongside a team of 14 HR professionals who are bright, innovative, compassionate, dedicated and committed to taking really good care of the people they serve.
Essential Required Tasks/Examples of Duties
- Partner with business leaders to understand their HR needs and develop strategies that align with the organization’s goals.
- Provide guidance and support on a wide range of HR-related issues, including employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, workforce planning and employee engagement.
- Collaborate with other members of the HR team to ensure that HR policies and practices are consistent and effective.
- Participate in the development and implementation of employee engagement programs to promote a positive and productive work environment.
- Oversee and execute the talent acquisition process, including sourcing and screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and managing the offer process.
- Identifies skills gaps and training needs; develops and conducts training, accordingly.
- Analyze HR metrics and use data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on effective people management practices.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Participate in special HR projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Training – Associate degree with major course work in human resources management, business/public administration, or a closely related field required. Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business/public administration, or a closely related field preferred. Professional HR certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, IPMA-CP).
Experience – Two to four years experience as an HR Generalist or an HR Business Partner

Working Conditions

Targeted Hiring Range: $31.02 – $36.49/hour
Hiring salary typically will not exceed the midpoint of the salary range.
