JOB SUMMARY: Serve as a billing specialist who provides billing expertise and assists in revenue generation, accounts receivable tracking and monitoring, internal compliance audits, general accounting duties, reception coverage, insurance authorization, insurance credentialing, and maintenance of Agency’s consumer database.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be able to consistently and successfully perform all essential functions of the position.
1. Perform billing and accounts receivable activities
2. Perform cash receipt activities
3. Assist in maintaining, developing and ensuring data integrity of the agency consumer database systems
4. Perform general accounting tasks and reporting responsibilities
5. Check in, interact with and answer patient questions.
6. Complete insurance authorization checks both within software and manually via telephone.
7. Assist with credentialing of providers with insurance payors.
8. Perform data entry.
9. Perform any other duties as requested by your supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of position skill and/or ability required.
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree; 2 year’s experience in Medical billing and collection, proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite, particularly Excel spreadsheets; strong knowledge of billing software required
