Typical Day in the Life

The Tier 2 IT Application Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to users experiencing issues with various software applications. The successful candidate will have experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues and providing excellent customer service to a diverse group of users as well as experience working with vendors. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. This position is also required to support a small office in Dubuque with their desktop hardware/software needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming support requests from users via phone, email, and ticketing system
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to software applications
  • Work with software vendors and development teams to resolve application-related issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation of support requests, resolutions, and related information
  • Collaborate with the IT team to implement best practices for software application support
  • Provide training and support to users on new and existing software applications
  • Ensure all support requests are resolved in a timely manner and in accordance with SLAs
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures related to application support
  • Should be actively engaged and supportive of Eide Bailly’s change management process.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.
  • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
  • Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts.
  • Requires the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Prompt and dependable attendance.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role providing technical support for software applications
  • Strong understanding of software applications and technologies, including experience with SQL and web-based applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Windows server OS and Windows desktop (not required to be a server admin)
  • Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot software on a Windows server and desktop.
  • Understanding of the file systems, user profiles, and system settings for these systems.
  • Familiarity with desktop and laptop hardware components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues, such as malfunctioning hard drives, memory problems, or peripherals (e.g., printers, scanners).
  • Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues, both wired and wireless.

Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.

Benefits and Compensation

Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.

Salary Range: $60,000 – $80,000
