Job Summary:
As a Supervisor in our IT Department, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our IT department. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our IT systems, and mentoring IT staff. This role requires expertise in a range of technologies, including Microsoft M365, Azure AD, Cisco Meraki network infrastructure, Apple School Manager, and educational device management. Experience in media production or K-12 education support is highly desirable.
Key Functions and Technologies:
Microsoft M365 and Azure AD: Maintain and optimize Microsoft M365 services and Azure Active Directory for user authentication, email, and collaboration tools.
Cisco Meraki Network Infrastructure: Manage and monitor the Cisco Meraki network infrastructure, ensuring network stability, security, and performance.
Apple School Manager: Oversee Apple School Manager for efficient management of Apple devices used within organizations supported by our company, including Macs and iPads.
Educational Device Management: Implement and manage device management solutions to support educational technology devices, ensuring they are up-to-date and secure.
Desktop Support: Provide technical support for desktop computers, laptops, and mobile devices, resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
VOIP Phone System: Administer and maintain the VOIP phone system, ensuring reliable communication within the organization.
Facility Security: Oversee the organization’s security systems, including security cameras and access control, to ensure the safety and security of the facility.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of IT professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical expert in the specified technologies and provide guidance to the IT team.
System Maintenance: Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and patches to ensure the security and functionality of IT systems.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues, both proactively and reactively, to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Security: Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect corporate data and infrastructure.
Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure the procurement of necessary hardware and software.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
Training and Development: Foster the professional growth of IT staff through mentoring and training initiatives.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions to enhance productivity.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in managing IT operations, preferably in a corporate setting.
Proficiency in Microsoft M365, Azure AD, Cisco Meraki, Apple School Manager, and educational device management.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in media production or K-12 education support is a plus.
IT certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco) are advantageous.
Working Conditions:
This role may require occasional evening or weekend work to perform system maintenance and updates.
Ability to lift and move computer equipment when necessary.
Some travel may be required to support remote locations or attend training.
