Director, Airband International Partnerships

TFR Airband advances high-speed internet access and meaningful connectivity to help all communities thrive in a connected world. We convene internal and external partners, including a global network of internet and energy providers, government agencies, nonprofits, and private sector companies, focused on closing the digital divide and unlocking the power of transformative technologies enabled by connectivity. Together, we work to not only build the digital infrastructure required for high-speed internet access, but also provide access to digital skilling training and technologies solutions that enable people and communities to operate online safely and productively aligned to our mission to empower every person and organization to achieve more.

We are seeking a Director, Airband International Partnerships to lead Microsoft’s global work to extend high-speed internet access and meaningful connectivity. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategies for our global partnerships to close the digital divide and unlock the power of transformative technologies enabled by connectivity.

Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 7+ years experience in managing a team in an area that has a societal impact focus such as Corporate Social Responsibility, Philanthropy or related field
    • OR 10+ years experience in managing a team in an area that has a Societal Impact focus such as Corporate Social Responsibility, Philanthropy or related field

Corporate Social Responsibility M5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 – $242,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 – $264,000 per year.

Strategy/Program Management

  • Develop and execute strategies for global partnerships to close the digital divide and unlock the power of transformative technologies enabled by connectivity.
  • Convene internal and external partners, including a global network of internet and energy providers, government agencies, nonprofits, and private sector companies, focused on closing the digital divide and unlocking the power of transformative technologies enabled by connectivity.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, nonprofits, and private sector companies.
  • Monitor and evaluate progress of initiatives and partnerships, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Develop and manage budgets for initiatives and partnerships.

Business, Technical, and Societal Expertise

  • Develops and/or recommends highly impactful solutions for advancing Microsoft’s corporate social responsibility agenda, while managing risks and consequences.
  • Identifies and gathers resources across internal and external communities to ensure a positive impact on TFR Airband’s goals and objectives.
  • Provides thought leadership and/or champions initiatives and solutions that significantly impact the advancement of Microsoft, industry, and/or community long-term objectives and priorities.
  • Aligns and leverages resources across internal and external communities to ensure a positive impact of TFR Airband’s initiatives.

Representing Microsoft

  • Advocates for and communicates Microsoft’s perspective on digital equity issues and garners the support of influential internal and external stakeholders to advance Microsoft’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda.
  • Influences and contributes to the messaging and communications strategy as a spokesperson to ensure work is integrated into internal and external stakeholder messaging.
  • Participates in large internal and eternal events to advocate for Microsoft Airband and other TFR programs.

External Relationships

  • Identifies and manages partnerships (e.g., nonprofit, advocacy, academic, government, and workforce organizations) to advance TFR Airband programmatic objectives.
  • Implements and improves TFR Airband initiatives based on community and stakeholder feedback.

Internal Collaboration

  • Serve as a strategic partner for TFR Airband by supporting business development opportunities and assisting in navigating, minimizing, or removing roadblocks to drive business results.
  • Participates in and/or leads intra-group and/or cross-group projects and ensure accountability by leveraging project management approaches.
  • Resolves cross-group conflicts or misalignment and seeks cooperation in an effort to prevent future conflicts.
  • Proactively collaborates with and influences internal stakeholders across functions to ensure a mutual understanding and alignment of objectives, priorities, and resources.
