Quality Assurance Leader, Special Projects

As Head of Quality Assurance (QA), you will be working with a unique and gifted team developing exciting products for customers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Our team is fast-paced, highly collaborative and is organized like a startup. The Head of QA is a key strategic role that drives and shapes enhanced quality and compliance across our programs. This is role is a key leader in the organization and sets the vision and strategy for QA, ensuring the functions, processes, and systems for Amazon and our partners are in compliance with company standards, Good Practices and governing regulations & guidelines.

Key job responsibilities
• Provide strategic and operational QA leadership to ensure that the company and partners are operating in full compliance with sound practice, as well as current guidelines, regulations, and company procedures.
• Provide QA representation and content in key governance meetings and management reviews.
• Design and implement a quality management system (QMS) for the organization that is flexible and can scale over time.
• Oversee the development and management of end-to-end audit processes, including audit scoping, preparation, execution, follow-up, and Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA) to meet internal and external guidelines and standards.
• Monitoring the external environment to ensure timely awareness of new quality-related regulations.
• Proactively identify quality events and escalate concerns in a timely manner; advise solutions to quality concerns and oversee remediation efforts.
• Support and champion audit process optimization (innovative audit approaches & continuous improvement ahead of industry standards) and foster alignment of audit processes across domains.
• Development and implementation of training programs to expand talent skillsets across the team.
• Interact, as appropriate, with quality professionals in third-party organizations, other partners, and government officials as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years of QA experience with increasing responsibility
• Proven track record developing, implementing, operating, and managing a QMS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience building a new QA function from the ground up
• Experience leading a team of QA professionals
• Working knowledge of ICH, GLP, GCP, and GMP FDA regulatory requirements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
