As a General Building Inspector, you’ll schedule, coordinate, perform, daily project field inspections of all work. Document inspections and submit recommendations to client for approval or rejection of work in place. Inspection services include, but are not limited to, adherence to Construction Documents, contract requirements, and the following:
- Make daily project site visits.
- Review equipment, materials, and workmanship.
- Review contractor quality and safety plans for adequacy, completeness, and code compliance.
- Monitor labor and safety conditions.
- Maintain inspection logs and take project photographs daily. Prepare progress and final inspection reports for each inspection. Record defects and/or omissions.
- Report problems/deficiencies encountered in the performance of the work in a timely manner.
- Maintain daily logs on required corrections and post status reports daily in contract folders on share drive.
- Document all qualitative and quantitative differences between construction contract documents and actual work in place.
- Review planned vs. actual schedule status and keep project manager informed of any schedule risk.
- Provide project inspections with Fire and Life Safety or Testing Service Contractor(s).
- Coordinate site inspections with client Environmental or Testing Service Contractor(s).
- Coordinate outages and assist contractor in obtaining any required work permits.

- Experience on Building Projects valued at $10M or more. This can include building renovations.
- At least 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Control.
- Familiarity with Safety Regulations and Testing.
- Demonstrated ability to work with Client team, Contractor team and Architect/Engineer design team to complete project on time.
- Good working skills with computers and applications including PMCS systems.
- Physical requirements include accessing all areas of buildings in a safe manner including using ladders.
- Requires good Written and Verbal skills for face to face meetings and written reports.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- 4 year degree
- Other professional training
The base salary range for this position is $33.37 to $58.41 per hour. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
