THE POSITION: Under the leadership of the Recreation Program Coordinator, this position implements program-specific curriculum and leads/facilitates youth sports including but not limited to soccer, t-ball and baseball, archery, volleyball and/or basketball. Class sizes are between 10-15 students per class with one assistant instructor on site. Classes are for ages 3+ depending on the sport and skill level. This position will be working outdoors in city parks. Please specify in your application which sports you are most interested and skilled in teaching.
Dates and hours needed: Looking for instructors for Spring 2024 and beyond.
Weekdays after 4pm, once a week or weekends, schedule is flexible and will be set to fit the instructor’s schedule.
Example Baseball Schedule
T-ball/Baseball (two 45 min classes with prep/cleanup):
Tuesdays, 9/5-10/10, 4:00-6:30 pm
Example Soccer Schedule
Soccer (two 45 min classes with prep/cleanup):
Thursdays, 9/7-10/12, 4:00-6:30 pm
Wage Range- $12.00 -$20.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications:An applicant ages 18+ with a high school diploma and some experience working with youth in a program setting will start at a minimum rate of $15/hr. Applicants 16+ are encouraged to apply and High school students are generally hired starting at $12/hr. The position qualifies for $.50 increases annually.
