We’re currently in need of a self-starting, reliable, and detail-oriented professional to serve as the Executive Assistant to the Director’s Office-providing top-notch executive-level support across a wide range of administrative responsibilities to the agency Director and other senior agency leadership including: Reviewing and interpreting incoming mail and calls directed to the Director’s Office; Preparing and proofing confidential correspondence, presentation materials, and reports; Creating and/or updating files; Maintaining calendars and arranging for meeting logistics; Coordinating travel arrangements; Interacting with agency stakeholders, employees, and high-level officials; and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Significant experience providing executive-level administrative support. Demonstrable efficiency and skill with using computer applications (including Microsoft Office applications, Google, etc.) as well as office equipment such as printers, scanners, and fax machines. Demonstrable ability to effectively communicate orally to provide program information and customer service to diverse levels of internal and external stakeholders. Significant experience communicating in writing with the demonstrable ability to produce correspondence, summaries, documents, agendas, and meeting minutes with appropriate vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation. Demonstrable experience effectively managing multiple priorities and competing interests while meeting deadlines.
Additional Considerations
Experience in serving in an administrative assistant capacity to appointed or elected officials or boards. Experience with management of special initiatives and projects, including identifying objectives, performing research, gathering data, and preparing reports and presentations. Current certification as a Notary Public. Ability to read and interpret legal documents, law, and code. Bachelors in related field or equivalent industry-specific service.

Valid VA Driver’s License or ability to attain required. Fingerprint-based criminal history record check, references, work history and DMV driving record will be verified prior to employment. Ability to work in diverse conditions including exposure to the outdoors, weather in all seasons, dust, animals, and insects. Ability to perform heavy manual labor to include standing, bending, pulling, climbing, and frequent lifting up to 40 lbs. Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR certifications within 12 months of employment. Position requires shift work, including weekends and holidays.
