Job Description Overview:

The Director of Technical Operations is to drive overall manufacturing capacity/planning, setup and execution for ASUS server and storage product from barebone system assembly to fully integrated systems and racks. With focus on project driven and demands from Enterprise, Telco and Cloud Service Provider segments. The person is effective at working independently and strategically to plan and execute, as well as collaboratively working with the supporting teams and tactically to reach the production goals.

The ideal candidate must possess extensive knowledge and experience in related fields, outstanding personality able to function independently as well as cross function and inter-department communications. The successful candidate is required to have strong server hardware knowhow and strong experience with production planning/enabling, integration/assembly, testing setup and Quality control experiences. He or she is able to perform and meet production, testing requirement per assigned projects or customer requirement. The ideal candidate is able to manage multiple integration/production projects without losing focus. He or she has excellent verbal communication skills and possesses strong interpersonal skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Technical Operations Team and be responsible for system and rack level integration operation including managing relationship with EMS/integration partners, and/or ASUS affiliate companies as well as provide overall production planning, setup, quality control, testing program and automation process etc.
  • Support global integration facility setup and operations
  • Recruit PE/QE/QA etc. integrated and production related personnel.
  • Setup system/rack level integration and production planning per customer/project requirement.
  • Initiate and participate in strategic discussion to ensure decisions align with company business direction, process and procedure.
  • Develop and maintain system (L10) and rack (L11) level automated Shop Floor Information.
  • Lead and build the Technical Operations team to ensure manufacturing operation meet ESB business requirement and customer expectation.
  • Handle customer request for manufacturing audit for system and rack level integration requirement.

Required Qualifications:

Years of Education or Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in related filed or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of production / integration planning and management in the technology space, ideally server and storage hardware products.
  • Proven experience of production setup and planning.
  • Stable working experiences.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Salesforce.com
  • Great presentation skills about manufacturing/production information to customers.
  • Proven experience of production setup and planning.
  • Familiar with ERP / MES, Shopfloor, Warehouse Management System.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work in a dynamic and startup mode environment
  • Organization and priority setting skills and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work confidently in a rapidly changing, fast-paced and results-oriented corporate environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in related field or equivalent
  • Proven track record of partnership and relationship with accounts in the related industries, verticals and regions.
  • Excellent knowledge in computers/servers and the most current technology trends
  • Bilingual English and Mandarin preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally – approximately 30% travel
  • Approximately 70% working in an office environment, requiring sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone and other office equipment for extended periods of time

$150,000 – $180,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. It does not include bonuses, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D insurance, Paid Time Off, EAP, & 401(k). The final amount will be determined based on qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
