Position Summary:
Design & Construction Services supports the university’s strategic plan through the design and construction of new and renovated facilities. This includes the bid, award, management, and administration of all professional services and construction contracts related to campus construction projects. Demonstrates professional skills as a seasoned, experienced contract administrator to prepare documents for the bid and award of construction-related contracts and draft and issue complex and varied contracts. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, including identifying potential contractors, conducting the bidding process, drafting contract terms, and ensuring compliance with contract terms through contract completion. Applies knowledge of theories, statutory requirements, and policies through the implementation of effective and efficient contracting processes.

$73,900.00 – $88,850.00 (Annual Salary) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $73,900.00 – $133,700.00 (Annual Salary)
Required:
3 or more years of experience in contract administration in the public sector or related field; or a combination of education and/or experience
Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of specific contracting assignments using various construction delivery methods including design-bid-build, design-build, and job order contracts. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills; and ability to deal effectively with broad and diverse constituencies including contractors, vendors, sub-contractors, in addition to project stakeholders ensuring strong customer service orientation and skills. Strong organizational, presentation and negotiation skills. Strong listening and political acumen skills.
Preferred:
Thorough knowledge of California Public Contract Code, University of California Facilities Manual policies and procedures, UC Irvine processes for implementing construction related transactions and activities, and applicable state and federal regulations and general contract terms. Strong knowledge of the organization, including its infrastructure, goals, mission, rules, policies, guidelines, etc.
