Advancement Data Analyst

Purpose: You are a curious team member responsible for maximizing data utilization and using data analytics to track, inform and improve fundraising performance and strategy. You look for solutions using creative problem-solving skills and your knowledge of fundraising data.

Salary Range: $55k-60k (depending on experience)

Location: The person in this position will have the opportunity to work remotely for the bulk of their time. Access to reliable internet, ability to prioritize work independently, and foster relationships while working in a hybrid (remote and in-person) environment required. Must live in or have easy access to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and be available for frequent face-to-face interactions in Minneapolis/St. Paul and greater Minnesota regions.

What you will be doing:

Analysis – Analyze and report on the performance of strategies. Monitor trends and needs. Leverage data and insights to inform future work.

Produce – Report data that provides important insights for future campaigns, events, and audience segmentation. Design and maintain accurate reports, queries, and exports.

Support – Generate fundraising lists for annual funding, capital campaign, and events. Assist with special events and donor inquiries. Use data to highlight trends in donor behavior as needed. Assist with ensuring data hygiene and integrity.

Communication – Listen, pay attention and be a responsible steward of information. Communicate issues and patterns. Partner with revenue-generating teams by using data to solve problems, create efficiencies and track progress towards goals.

Continuous Improvement -Continually identify and explore opportunities for process improvements to achieve greater efficiency and efficacy in systems, processes, and procedures. Develop and/or refine methodology of how data are stored within the database; provide documentation on processes.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

Experience -3+ years of data management experience.

Computer Skills -Strong computer skills, including a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with databases and data visualization tools preferred.

Adaptability-Ability to work in a professional and positive manner with high attention to detail in a variety of situations.

Communication – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, must have ability to work as a member of the team and partner collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments.

Physical & Emotional Capabilities – Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work at events and in an animal shelter environment, including the use of euthanasia.

Schedule – Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work during administrative operations hours as defined by management with flexibility to work an occasional evening or weekend shift.
