The Chiller Project Manager will lead multi-location, cross-functional teams to deliver Commercial HVAC products to market through a structured stage-gate product development process. This role ensures products meet specific customer requirements, project goals, timelines and budgets. Project Managers take P&L accountability for all projects activity through product launch. A key deliverable for the role is to reduce the current project cycle time.
Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):
- Lead cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.
- Facilitate/Lead project charter, scope, commercialization, requirements, risk, planning, schedule development.
- Build strong relationships with project sponsors at all levels.
- Build cross-functional ownership of PDP as a business process within the Commercial HVAC group.
- Assess project’s cross-functional resource requirements and proactively engage sponsors and functional leaders to fill resource gaps on a timely basis to ensure project success.
- Manage project deliverables, risks, and timing; utilizing project management methodologies to manage schedule, scope, and resource requirements.
- Timely communication of project status to all stakeholders.
- Overnight travel up to 5%.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or relevant technical discipline) and at least 2 years of work experience managing projects is required.
Key Skills or Competencies:
- Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Project Management, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Product management, and experience leading & managing New Product Development.
- Knowledge of Lean methodologies is preferred.
- Certification in MS Project Professional is preferred.
- Experience in resource/manpower planning and leadership of cross-functional teams is preferred.
- Demonstrated financial and business acumen and history of running projects on-time and on-budget is preferred.
- Experience in leading projects from Conception to Manufacturing Launch preferred.
- Experience facilitating a Schedule build, WBS, and Schedule/Resource Management preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence leadership, concisely tell a coherent story.
- Tenacity in driving project team members to meet or exceed project objectives of Delivery, Quality, Project & Product Cost.
- Courage to raise issues to leadership when project is at risk.
- Ability to lead multiple projects at any given time.
Annual Compensation Range is $60,000 to $123,000 annually. Disclaimer: This salary range is based on US national averages. Actual pay could be a result of seniority/experience level, merit and geographic location where the actual work is performed.
