What You’ll Do
We have an exciting opportunity to join Principal! We’re looking for a Retirement Planning Pricing Analyst to join our team! You’ll partner with the Sales and Service teams to package competitive fee quotes to retain retirement plan business up to $200M in assets. You’ll provide analysis and details on the product & investment package to position our fee quote against competitors.
Here are few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do when you join our team:
- Prepare fee quotes, including the pillars of our Total Retirement Suite, for assigned sales and service team areas or individuals.
- Evaluate a prospect/client’s current investment lineup and offer solutions to support our asset management strategy.
- Analyze the competitiveness of our fee quote and service package to consult with field partners and leaders, to put Principal in the best position to secure/retain business at established profit targets.
- Work towards self-development by expanding and sharing knowledge of department, line of business, and industry
- Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical expertise on a variety of topics.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to internal and external customers.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of work experience.
- 4+ years of financial retirement plan experience as an advisor, operations, customer care, administrative, or similar roles.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of the team, good organization, prioritization, customer service, and oral and written communication.
- Ability to quickly learn and utilize a variety of PC-based applications.
- Knowledge of retirement plan and products, including investments, plan design, and services, laws & regulations, industry standards, and the competitive environment.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and train less experienced employees and internal customers with minimal assistance.
- Provide prompt, courteous and excellent service to all customers, operate in an ethical manner in accordance with State and Federal law, the company’s Corporate Code of Ethics, Affirmative Action, Diversity, employee handbook, applicable compliance and operations policies and procedures and other policies of the company.
- Possess a high degree of integrity and actively participate and interact with all entities of the Principal Financial Group.

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range
$51000 – $121200 / year

Location
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
