Civic Engagement Fellow (71102)

Pratt Institute’s Department of Fine Arts invites applications for a one (renewable to two) year Fellowship in Civic Engagement. Established artists who are active in cross-disciplinary, collaborative, socially engaged practices are encouraged to apply. We welcome applications from a diversity of practices.
This Fellowship is a full-time appointment supporting our ongoing commitment to an equitable and inclusive learning environment. The selected Fellow will foster interdisciplinary collaboration across the institute and forge relationships with external communities and organizations. In addition to teaching responsibilities in the Fine Arts Department, the selected fellow will develop programming and/or workshops connecting their practice to both internal and surrounding publics.
The specific roles and responsibilities of the selected Fellow will be developed in collaboration with the department to best ensure that the selected Fellow is successful in bringing their own vision, expertise, and experience to this fellowship position.

Position Duties:

  • Teach one MFA and one BFA class per semester
  • In collaboration with the department, develop programming related to your area of expertise to benefit internal and external communities.

Qualifications

  • MFA or equivalent
  • An established artist with a considerable record of active practice in their area of expertise
  • Higher-ed teaching experience preferred

SALARY is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $75,000-80,000. The position will be onsite no less than 3 days per week.
