We are a diverse team of applied scientists, data scientists and software developers and we are looking for an experienced, results-oriented Applied Scientist, who are a highly motivated individual and will be comfortable in a fast-paced development environment. You will help to design an interactive assistant using NLP/LLM models, that is aimed to improve customer experience by supporting data search, quickly navigate users via data platform, return relevant results, and answer data related questions. You will help to test hypotheses in a high-ambiguity environment, making use of both quantitative and business judgment. You will be a key contributor in building language models, and end-to-end production pipelines. You will work with the team of software developers and machine learning experts to help them deploy language model into production. You will also be involved in every aspect of the production pipeline process. It will include research, optimization, scalability, test, models deployment, and create reproducible pipelines, API endpoints.

Key job responsibilities

– Apply your expertise in NLP and LLM models to help designing and developing scalable machine learning solutions.

– Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, scientists, and product managers, to define and deliver projects.

– Conduct thorough data analysis to gain insights, identify patterns, and drive actionable insights that enhance customer experiences across data platform.

– Continuously explore and evaluate state-of-the-art NLP techniques and methodologies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of language-related systems.

– Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear explanations and guidance on proposed solutions and their potential impact.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 3+ years of building models for business application experience

– PhD, or Master’s degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience

– Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals

– Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

– Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience using Unix/Linux

– Experience in professional software development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
