Job Duties
Are you knowledgeable of current and emerging economic development strategies, resources, and procedures? Do you have experience collaborating and building relationships in the energy sector? Then look no further! The Virginia Department of Energy, State Energy Office, is seeking an Energy Economic Development Coordinator to identify economic opportunities for energy-related projects throughout the Commonwealth. The successful candidate will develop and maintain strong relationships across the energy sector along with other relevant stakeholders to share information and gain input on emerging opportunities and economic development activities.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate should have the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience in order to qualify for this position:
• Experience working and building relationships in the energy sector
• Demonstrated experience with economic development
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet established deadlines
• Problem solver mentality with the ability to identify existing/potential issues and provide solutions
• Results driven through prioritizing, taking initiative, and taking ownership
• 5+ years of experience working in the energy sector
• Work experience collaborating with business and technical teams to drive decisions
This position has been designated as required to file a Statement of Economic Interest in accordance with Section 2.2-3114 of the Code of Virginia. In addition, the individual accepted for employment will have to pass a drug test with successful references as part of the Virginia Energy pre-employment process.
