Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years(s) of experience with Android or equivalent UI development.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- 2 + year(s) object-oriented programming experience in languages including, but not limited to, Kotlin or Java .
- 1+ year(s) building and supporting user-facing products.
- Experience of working on-call.
- Demonstrated technical competencies with large-scale codebases.
Software Engineering IC3 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 – $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 – $198,600 per year.

Responsibilities:
Your role as a Software Engineer II will be to help define, architect, build, and support Android for Outlook Mobile – the mobile face of our company. Make technology and design decisions to deliver a fast, secure, and usable application. Work with other Outlook teams to define needs and APIs that will provide the best user experience. Create beautiful UI and intuitive UX that will delight our users.
- Contribute in partnership with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements for a feature.
- Consider a variety of feedback channels to incorporate insights into future designs or solution fixes. Incorporate appropriate continuous feedback loops measuring customer value, usage patterns, and other actionable metrics of value.
- Learn and contribute to processes for the architecture of a product/solution feature and learn to create proposals by testing design hypotheses and helping to refine code plans under the technical leadership of others.
- Learn about, share new ideas , and leverage software developer tools to create, debug, and maintain code for features.
