Insurance Financial Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for an Insurance Financial Coordinator in the fertility industry. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the financial support and guidance they need to navigate insurance coverage for fertility treatments. You will work closely with patients, insurance providers, and our healthcare team to facilitate seamless financial processes. This position is on-site at our San Francisco office. Pay: $25-$27/hr.

What you will be doing:

Insurance Verification:

  • Conduct thorough review of insurance verifications for patients seeking fertility treatments.
  • Determine coverage details, including deductibles, copayments, and preauthorization requirements.

Patient Education:

  • Explain insurance benefits, coverage limitations, and out-of-pocket expenses to patients.
  • Provide clear and compassionate guidance to patients on financial aspects of fertility treatments.

Claims Management:

  • Monitor claims status and follow up on any discrepancies or denials.

Prior Authorizations:

  • Secure prior authorizations for fertility treatments as required by insurance companies.
  • Maintain records of authorization requests and approvals.

Billing Support:

  • Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate billing and coding practices.
  • Assist in resolving billing issues and discrepancies.

Financial Counseling:

  • Conduct financial counseling and payment plan options to patients via in person or phone
  • Address patient inquiries related to fertility treatment costs.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain detailed and organized records of patient insurance information and interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations, including HIPAA.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with medical staff and other coordinators to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to streamline financial processes and improve patient experience.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, College degree preferred
  • 1-3 years’ work experience in Medical Insurance Verification or other medical administrative experience required
