Since 1993, T2 Utility Engineers has provided professional surveying and mapping for acquisition and mapping of 3-dimensional spatial data in support of plans and preparation for construction of roadways, subsurface infrastructure, commercial and private land developments. Using advanced technologies including GPS, laser and LiDAR scanning, MCGPR, UAS (drones), our team of field technicians, surveyors, and engineers capture quality data and provide professional insight to help our clients visualize, plan and design their projects. SUE Technician III responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • You will work with a team of professionals, including engineers, project managers, land surveyors, CAD and SUE technicians to produce high quality deliverables that meet the guidelines established by the American Society of Civil Engineers
  • Mastery in the operation of SUE geophysical equipment, such as pipe and cable locators and ground penetrating radar, in complex utility infrastructure environments to accurately map all utilities within the project area
  • Complete detailed accurate daily reports, forms, and field sketches
  • Work with CAD software as part of your daily documentation process
  • Supervise daily SUE field crew activities and train junior crew members
  • Represent and communicate on behalf of T2ue with client, sub-contractors, and third parties during field activities
  • Effective maintenance, cleaning, and operation of vehicles, equipment, tools and supplies
  • Facilitate Daily Tailgate Safety Meetings
  • Perform Daily Job Hazard Analysis with crew members
  • Drive commercial motor vehicles, however a CDL license is not required
  • Direct safety set-up for proper maintenance of traffic signage
  • Complete monthly equipment and supply inventory

SUE Technician III Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 6+ years of experience working in SUE or related fields, such as utility locating or geophysics
  • Capable of reading and interpreting utility company prints and design plans
  • Must have a good oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • High aptitude for using and learning computer software
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical
  • Necessary to pass a DOT medical screening and obtain a DOT medical card
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment
  • Enjoy working outdoors on a daily basis in all types of weather
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to 2 week continuous stays across the state of Colorado and the Western region
  • Experience overseeing others is a plus
  • OSHA Safety certifications are a plus
