Eaton’s Information Technology division is currently seeking a Senior Design Automation Software Engineer to join our team. This position can be based at our Beachwood, Ohio, Moon TWP, PA, Raleigh, NC. The position is eligible for a hybrid work setup.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $101,250 – $148,500 a year.

What you’ll do:
Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer. The position will provide technical strategy supporting IT frameworks and guide successful design, development, deployment, and operations of IT solutions. This position will work with the business and IT, providing development expertise for our Design Automation system. This system delivers high-quality drawings in AutoCAD format, along with BIM Models as well as integrations to various manufacturing and ERP systems to enable our manufacturing processes.
Job Responsibilities:
• Plan for future-state technology portfolios and IT program investments
• Develop, communicate, and deploy architecture governance processes.
• Drive the application of emerging technologies to current Eaton environments.
• Drive solution architecture, ensure technical alignment, and facilitate technical solution delivery.
• Accountable for maintaining high levels of solution performance, availability, and capacity, demonstrating a commitment to quality.
• Works within Eaton’s IT Organization to successfully influence the direction of key technical elements of the solution environment.
• Support and execute on strategic plans
Essential Functions:
• Develop and Support Eaton’s Design Automation software
• Design, implement, and maintain efficient, reliable, and reusable code.
• Interact with IT and manufacturing leaders as well as diverse teams of professionals across multiple functions.
• Analyze technical specifications and propose innovative solutions including the evaluation of Cloud APU offerings from AutoDesk.
• Write unit tests and automated integration tests, perform manual testing, review peer-written code and write reports.
• Participate in the investigation of problems by gathering enough information to find the root causes and fix them.
• Participate in all stages of the development cycle: requirements, design, coding, testing, release, documentation, review of peers.
• Participate in sprint planning exercises, daily Scrum meetings, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Skills:
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with CAD tools and automation related to AutoDesk technologies
• Experience with our standard development tools (Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft TFS/Azure DevOps, Git).
• Web Development experience (ASP.NET, HTML 5, CSS, Angular)
• Experience in SQL Server database development and administration exposure
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Microsoft .NET, C#, C++
• Experience with secure development practices.
