Position Overview
Performs assignments involving engineering principles and knowledge of packaging materials for packaging development and improvements.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work closely with design team to achieve daily tasks.
• Packaging development, including prototyping, testing, and documentation for all business units.
• Assist with equipment testing and machine tryouts related to packaging implementation.
• Assist in the packaging cost estimating process.
• Develop knowledge of materials used and packaging assembly processes.
• Value Added/Value Engineered packaging improvements.
• Create, review, update and circulate packaging specifications.
• Gather critical requirements and research product alternatives.
• Interact cross-functionally supporting various packaging materials projects.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Familiarity with Artios CAD (both 2D and 3D0, Tops and Adobe Illustrator CC
• Possess strong hands-on and mechanical skills with familiarity of hand and power tools.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
REQUIREMENTS
• Working toward a BA or certificate from a Fine Arts program/Graphic Design school.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to see color and distinguish colors precisely.
• Ability to lift, push or pull 50lb., as well as navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.

Division Description
The Kalamazoo Division is a full service, BRCGS certified corrugated facility with an ISTA test lab on site. We manufacture a wide variety of corrugated products from point of purchase graphic displays, to any size corrugated shipping container.
