Vice President, Social Strategy

We are seeking a Vice President of Social Strategy who will be responsible for developing creative briefs, marketing programs, and social content for Microsoft.

THE JOB:

Part researcher, part cultural observer and anthropologist, part storyteller, part digital strategist, part platform expert, and part creative shepherd. You’re the glue that connects account and creative. You tie our campaigns to the audience by answering the fundamental “whys” and providing consumers with realistic reasons to believe in our clients’ work.

You, the strategic planner, will strengthen partnerships with clients by presenting research-based insights that inform social campaigns and always-on creative content that reaches the right audiences. Your deep understanding of social platforms, audiences, and trending content will keep our teams on the forefront of creative development.

Responsibilities:

    • Provide guidance on engagement and participation in evolving social media channels and trending content, identifying and evaluating new opportunities as they pertain to the client and budget
    • Connect human truths to business problems to creative strategic recommendations that solve business problems and translate them into compelling creative briefs.
    • Partner with creative teams to ensure the creation of high-quality and effective content against business goals
    • Oversee team member(s) responsible for social editorial calendar development and agile/reactive opportunities
    • Maintain strong attention to detail and a passion for process, able to strategically manage a large volume of creative content
    • Understand consumer behavior, human truths, and behavior to create campaign messaging, always-on content series, and inform content types.
    • Oversee reporting narrative and help transform data into actionable insights and recommendations
    • Understand both the art of storytelling and the science of data. You’ll produce and distill vast amounts of research and push yourself to find a creative, clever, and fascinating perspective on a client challenge in the digital space.
    • Exhibit a solid understanding of key client information including general business strategy, industry issues, and trends, products and services offered, key customers, and competitors in the digital and social marketplace
    • Can easily develop an understanding of the client’s business environment and strategy.
    • Have no problem assembling elegant strategic insights into presentations for senior-level leaders and clients.

Basic Qualifications:

    • At least 8 years of relevant experience in research, social media, advertising, management consulting, editorial/media, and publishing an ad, digital or PR agency or publisher.
    • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

    • EXCELLENT writing and presentation skills.
    • You’re a masterful and diplomatic collaborator. Ideally, you’ll have worked across an agency with many stakeholders and teams, including account and analytics.
    • You are skilled at participating in, and leading, strategic discussions both internally and with clients.
    • Ability to juggle multiple tasks at once.
    • Must be a self-starter who’s comfortable solving problems independently. You actively seek solutions and efficiencies.
    • Must have a true and dear love for HBR, Warc, Nieman Lab, Fast Co, eMarketer, and similar resources.
    • Strong proficiency with research, digital analytics tools, and social platforms for business experience preferred.
    • Experience managing direct reports preferred.

$99,000 – $175,000 a year

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
