Position Title: Senior Cybercrime Analyst

Salary Range: $62,407 – $65,615

Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney’s Office has two immediate openings for Senior Cybercrime Analysts in its Cybercrime and Identity Theft Bureau. The Cybercrime and Identity Theft Bureau (“CITB”) is committed to protecting the public by combating sophisticated cybercrime and identity theft schemes in Manhattan and worldwide. The Bureau prosecutes cases involving check and credit card fraud, cyber impersonation, child exploitation and pornography, cyber-stalking, cyber-bullying, computer hacking, as well as white-collar crimes involving money laundering and threats to financial institutions. In this position the Senior Cybercrime Analysts are responsible for providing highly sophisticated analytical support to the Bureau and the office at large.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide office-wide training, teaching paralegals, analysts, and other support staff techniques tools and procedures for investigating cases with a cyber or identity theft component.
  • Assist Assistant District Attorneys in complex, long and short-term investigations involving cybercrime, violent crime, human trafficking, white-collar crime and identify theft.
  • Act as a liaison to trial and investigative bureau staff assisting them in their investigations and cases.
  • Generate subpoenas for banks and other institutions and assist in preparing matters for grand jury and trial presentations.
  • Testify under oath regarding analysis performed.
  • Perform other high-level administrative functions and related duties.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; Master’s degree in a related field a plus; and
  2. One (1) year of full time experience investigating/analyzing computer-related crimes.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must possess a general fluency with computer applications and electronic devices and a readiness to learn about and adapt to rapid changes in technology.
  • Must be detail oriented and experienced in many facets of Internet navigation and research.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and Internet required.
  • Knowledge of CityNet Systems, CLEAR, LEXIS/NEXIS, PIMS, Palantir, Shiny Phones software, and E-Justice a plus.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects.
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
  • Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment, detail oriented and self-motivated and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and law enforcement staff.

Commitment:

  • Two (2) year commitment to the position
