The Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) is seeking a Planner I to join our Distribution Engineering Team in the Electric Division. The Distribution Engineering Planner will perform a wide range of activities to support the work of the department, including planning, coordinating, and scheduling; processing work orders; performing basic engineering and compliance duties; and database management. The Planner I will regularly partner with colleagues across the utility, including the inspector, the Joint-Use Specialist, and Engineering Technicians.
As a Planner I in Distribution Engineering, you will:
- Process Distribution Engineering job packets and perform the final QA/QC on all drawings, ensuring they have the required engineering stamp, materials worksheets, permits, customer agreements, and customer deposits.
- Ensure Operations teams have what they need to complete their field work.
- Work closely with the inspector to ensure Distribution Engineering is following the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and EWEB Electrical Standards.
- Scan, distribute, and troubleshoot customer work requests through the WAM system.
- Partner with the Joint Use Specialist to process agency joint-use requests for permit applications and/or cancellations.
- Initiate, track, and reconcile a variety of customer and joint-use agency billings.
- Maintain and process various customer contracts and agreements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of and experience in:
- Assessing, prioritizing, planning, organizing, scheduling, tracking, documenting, reporting, and evaluating work and job performance.
- The basics of engineering and compliance work as related to the utility industry.
- Principles of electrical theory and electric utility operations and maintenance.
- Technical and operational methods, tools, equipment, and materials used in equipment testing, repair, construction, and maintenance.
- The use of maintenance management software.
- Reading and understanding engineering drawings.
- Critical thinking, problem solving, and systems analysis.
The starting salary for this position will be between $67,026.97 and $80,755.39 annually, commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience related to the position.
Minimum Experience and Education RequiredWhen reviewing applications, EWEB will consider any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the position.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of 4 years experience in developing and coordinating work schedules, including demonstrated work experience in using project scheduling and maintenance management software.
Minimum Education: Associates degree with courses in work planning, project management, engineering, business, information services, or related field.
Desirable Education, Experience, and Training: EWEB is especially interested in hiring a candidate for this position with business office experience, including extensive experience in word processing and the use of relational databases and reporting tools.
